Welcome to ZV Torpedo!

At ZV Torpedo, everything revolves around swimming fun, teamwork, and personal growth. Since 1983, we’ve been diving into the pool together at De Lieberg in Hilversum. Whether you want to learn your first racing stroke, train for a personal best, or simply stay fit – with us, you’ll always find your place in the water.

With an enthusiastic team of volunteers and coaches, we guide swimmers of all ages – from beginners to ambitious competitors. Together, we turn every practice and competition into a sporting celebration. And the great thing is: swimming at Torpedo isn’t just an individual challenge, it’s also a true team sport. Together we compete for points, records, and above all, enjoyment.

Our club has around 100 members, and we are proud to be part of the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB). At the moment, we compete in the C-division, but our sights are set on even greater achievements. And it’s not just in the water – parents, volunteers, and officials all play their part in making every practice and competition possible.

Competition

We swim in the C classification of the mid-west region competition. Those who are ready can participate in competitions. Just like football, competitive swimming is a team sport that we do together. Read more about the competitions here.

Swimming is for everyone. We want everyone to feel welcome and safe. Therefore, ZV Torpedo has committed to Code Blue, an initiative by the KNZB. Learn more about this below.

Please only fill out this form if you are available for a trial swimming lesson on the upcoming Tuesday or Friday. Trial lessons cannot be scheduled during school holidays. If this doesn't work for you, please wait to register until you are available the following week.
Swimmer under 18 years old *
Contribution rules. * Trial swimming is free and completely without obligation. The following contribution rules only apply once you decide to become a member. The contribution period runs from February through November, and payments are handled via NIKKI. When you register, a few fixed costs—such as the KNZB registration fee—will be charged in the first billing quarter. If you’re unable to train for an extended period, it’s possible to pause your contribution for up to one year. Registrations made in the last month of a quarter will automatically be moved to the next quarter. Membership can be canceled quarterly, with a minimum contribution of two quarters. If you wish to stop as of January 1st, please cancel before December 15th of the current year. Please note: cancellations must be submitted using the official cancellation form. If you're having difficulty paying the contribution, you can contact the Youth Fund for Sport & Culture via www.kieseenclub.nl.

For everyone's safety in the water, we kindly ask that all swimmers have at least a Swimming Diploma C (or an equivalent level). Thank you for helping us keep swimming safe and fun for everyone!

Volunteer tasks * Our club runs entirely on the dedication of volunteers. Without you, there’s no club! That’s why we’re always very happy when someone is willing to lend a hand. Volunteering doesn’t have to be complicated. You can help in simple ways, such as assisting with setting up competitions, doing some shopping, or handing out medals. We’re also always looking for new trainers. You don’t need any experience – enthusiasm and commitment are just as important. Want to join a training session to see if it’s something for you? That’s absolutely possible! Let us know what you’re interested in. Which tasks would you be open to helping with?
