Brevet swim - Saturday 4th of December

Dear All

The “brevet” swim will take place on Saturday 4th of December 2021. The brevet swim will take place instead of the regular Saturday morning training and is for all swimmers! Due to time, we will start a little earlier than usual:

  • Warming-up:         07:15h
  • Start:                     07:30h
  • End:                      09:00h

Please register before 2 December by sending an email to with the following information:

  • The first and last name of the participant(s)
  • Which brevet you are participating in (new swimmers, see below)

During the swimming we will create a Sinterklaas atmosphere.

New swimmers

Have you never swum for a “brevet”  before? No problem, read on below for more explanation.

You can see “brevet”  swimming as a competition within the club to gain experience for real competitions. You swim in the competition pool, dive off the starting block and your time is recorded.

There are a total of 6 certifications (brevetten) to obtain. You get this by swimming at certain distances for certain times. There are 2 or 3 certification moments per year in which you can participate.

We do this because it's fun and to give the newer swimmers or swimmers who find it exciting a chance to 'get used' to the idea of a competition. Would love to have every swimmer there!

If you have never participated in the “brevet” swim before, register for certificate 1 (this means that you swim 25 meters for each stroke).

We need a number of volunteers to guide this, including timekeepers. No training is required for this, you do not need to be able to speak Dutch, you can simply register times with your own telephone or stopwatch. Register at

Corona measures

Of course we do not know what the developments will be with regard to corona and any governmental measures that will follow. If there are any changes, we will inform you as soon as possible. In any case, the following applies:

  • Do you have complaints, inform us and stay home
  • All swimmers aged 18 or older must show a corona pass
  • There is (unfortunately) no possibility for parents to come and watch (unless you sign up as a volunteer and are assigned!)
  • Mouth cap is mandatory in the reception area of the pool.
  • Updates to the measures will be shared before the swim

Until Saturday 4 December,

Yours sincerely,

Lisa Frankhuisen
