Competitive swimming - How does it work?
When you have just joined our club, as a beginner, you will not immediately participate in competitions. Swimming is a sport in which the technique is very important. At the start this will be the main focus, besides having fun. In competitive swimming there are four strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and crawl. Children with swimming diploma A and B (or equivalent) can participate in swimming training at ZV Torpedo.
When can you participate in competitions?
When your technique is reasonable a starting licence can be requested at the KNZB. The trainers decide when a child is ready for a starting licence and will register for this, after consent by parents.
